Sorry, not what you were thinking ;)
This is Boomer. He is our new 12 week golden retriever puppy. We have been wanting a dog for a long time (well, Mitchell has been desperately wanting a dog his entire life). Also, we have talked a lot about wanting a golden retriever. My family has a golden retriever and they are just the best family dogs. Well, a really great opportunity came up this past week. Although we were not expecting to do this right now, it worked out really well. We are going to have a lot more time in the next month and upcoming semester to train him, so we decided to go for it and are really glad that we did! Instead of getting board games from my parents, Mitchell decided to make his Christmas present Boomer’s crate, haha! Also, luckily he is actually really well behaved and very sweet. We were surprised that he doesn’t chew on anything and just wants to snuggle in your lap all the time. We picked him up yesterday in Choctaw. The breeders are great and go to Mitchell’s parents’ church. We will probably stay in contact with them-they were sad to see their last and favorite puppy go. It was cute to see his parents and what he will look like when he grows up!
He is a type of Golden Retriever called an English Crème. We are really excited to see him grow! He is already getting really attached to us. Even though it is sweet, we are trying to not let him to that. He follows us around and then just sleeps by our feet if we are standing up. Something really funny and cute is that he keeps looking at his reflection in the dishwasher for a few minutes and then licking or pawing at it. We think maybe he thinks it is another puppy or one of his brothers/sisters.
Okay, I don’t want to be one of those crazy dog people who talks about their dog like it is a person, so I will stop now. I just thought I would announce this exciting news!
